Negozio Olivetti, Venice
It’s the first time that I publish interiors. In 57 the owner of Olivetti, a brand of typewriting machines, commissioned Carlo Scarpa to design the Negozio Olivetti in Piazza San Marco, in the centre of Venice. A showroom and exhibition space that expressed the search for quality that Olivetti represented. The predominant materials are marble and wood. All of extremely quality. The level of detail is remarkable. Not just with one material specifically but with every kind used inside this space. It’s probably one of the best showroom that I’ve ever been. Still perfectly capable of receive some of the best and exclusive brands of anything nowadays. It’s mandatory to have spaces like this preserved.
